Sofortbild App Reviews

Doesn

The app is crashing when I try to do tethered shooting with a Nikon D300 under Mountain Lion where it worked under Lion albeit with occasional camera communication difficulties. We really do need developers to keep up with major OS updates. (Nikons Capture Control 2 has the same problem coincidentally.) And so what do you use for tethered shooting under Mountain Lion? I havent found anything yet. Now in the box at the top of the screen here it really should say under System Requirements OSX 10.5.0 to 10.7.X. because it doesnt work under 10.8.2. Having contacted the technical support section by email to report the problem and not having received a reply, Im struggling give this software too many stars. Ill try to be as fair as possible and give it 3 because it is a very good app. It just doesnt work under Mountain Lion.. unless it just doesnt work for me.

Amazing App

Ive been using this app for over 2 years and its amazing, before I used Nikons program for my windows laptop but even though I dont get live view with Sofortbild, its better than Nikons native program. I mainly use sofortbild for product photography, its easy to adust settings, take the picture and preview it. Its a fast app and it has been incredibly stable for me. I have also used it for HDR captures and being able to set massive amounts of shots per bracket is very helpful. All in all, the only wish I have for this app is to add live view support but the builder has said that its pretty tricky, and since its been on the "to-do" list since 09; I dont think its an easy thing to do. If you have a supported camera, buy this app. This app should come with every nikon DSLR, its better than Nikons native program, runs on OSX and is free.

Amazing.

Can you please please please please please please please make this app to be able to go from an iPad to camera way? somehow? Maybe even make it so that we need to purchase an Eye-Fi card to make it work? Because I would buy the memory card if this app could go on the iPad too!

Perfect for D7000

This is by far the most amazing application I have found. It works FLAWLESSLY. The user interface is PERFECT. Words dont to justice to this application. If you own a Nikon and a Mac, please DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and get this application. It ROCKS!!!

Simple and rock solid

Works perfectly with my Nikon D70 and D7000. I contributed some money through the developers website last year as I cant believe hes releasing this for free. Its professional quality all the way, and I wouldnt be surprised if it worked better than Nikons own capture program (which I havent used, but Nikons software generally seems like a kluge). Just get it. It works. Youll love it.

Wonderful App!

I cant believe that this app is free either! I just wish I could record video with it from my D7000 & D5100. Id be more than willing to pay a few dollars for this option!

Great App

Work great with my D5100. Easy to use with nice interface. And it is free, Thank you.

A+

This app is absolutely fantastic! -a Nikon D50 owner

outstanding

This is a great app, and free! It has worked flawlessly for me.

Wow!

Ive only been playing around with this app for the last ten minutes and already I want to take it with me on some professional shoots. Very simple and easy to use. Clean interface. Displays all of the camera settings of the outputed images, including graphs! This app gets out of your way so you can focus on what you should be - shooting. Very well done, and a steel since its free. Thank you for this!

Ridiculously better camera control than Nikons own software

Camera Control 2 by Nikon is buggy as the day is long and has a terrible memory leak problem. While Softortbild cant (yet) do everything that CC2 can, what it does do, especially for HDR imaging and time-lapse, it blows Nikon out of the water. Extremly stable, low system overhead, intuitive operation. I cant wait to see further development of this software.

Amazing! Retina really

Okay, I dont write many reviews, but this developer deserves it! A free app, that works great, and its retina. I was like whats the catch, but the developer has made an awesome application, and taken the time to really support as many cameras as possible. I would recommend it highly. Nikon D5100, and D3100 (hopefully supported one day! :(

great App

this is a great app..

Thats a way to deal with pics

We kindly appreciate having this for free. Thanks Mr. Stefan!

Great, but would love a patch

Lovely piece of work. Great price (0$). My only problem is that they need to patch the bugs for the D800/E compatibility.

Fantastic!

Incredible app and its free too! I use this with my trusty Nikon D80 and it works flawlessly. I am impressed with the quality and functionality. 5 stars isnt enough.

I have been using using this since the D70

Years ago before App Store, I used this a lot with my D70…. I havent tried this new version if it still works with the D70. Now that I have the D700, it is still working flawlessly! Great App & it doesnt cost a penny!

Works great!

Works great with my Nikon D5000 / Nikon D7000 / Nikon D800E . All controls and settings can be viewed and change. The only thing needs attention is for the Nikon d800E, some controls cannot be access/cannot be click and change, also the Live View dont work with Nikon D800E. but overall the software is awesome !!!

Great piece of work but...

D600 having same issue as D800. Cant wait for the patch.

Great program

Would love it if you added support for good but lesser used cameras like Sonys alpha series, I mean they only have 4 camearas in that line up. (a55,a65,a77,a99). But thanks for the Great Program ! Best part is its Free!
