Nikon D4

This works really well and supports Live View while tethered over a wired ethernet connection on the D4. Be sure to pair the camera with Nikons Wireless Transmiter Utilitiy (1.3.2 or later) even if youre using wired ethernet.

Author should be lauded

The author of this app should be teaching the camera companies….for a VERY LARGE FEE.

I would easily pay for it.

And for free how can you go wrong. Fantastic program, it works well with my D-7000 over USB anyway. Very nice job, and thank you.

Simple but perfect

I love this app, perfect app for tethered shooting of my nikon camera, and best of all its free. Thanks to the developer for this perfect app, and his perfect support.

its GREAT but pls fix some bugs on this app pls.

everytime i am done using this app and try to close this, it crashes.. weird but i dont know i dont know why. it doesnt affect the files tethered but it is just annoying when everytime i close the app, it gives me a "window" that it crashed unexpectedly..

Love it!

After multiple versions, Im still adoring this app. Cant believe its free! My only complaint is that recently the app has been crashing if my screen saver goes on. My fault, I know, I always forget to disable my screensaver before doing a timelapse but still frustrating. Wish there was a way to automatically disable the screensaver when doing a time lapse with the app. Other than that issue with user error, an amazing piece of software!

Nikon D800E issues

Sorry, the issues with the D800 are not fixed now. 1) live view does not work 2) resizing the captured image crashes the program. I used the defaults.. so no preferences changed.. just install, connect the camera capture a picture. This was using nikon Raw format and the system is an iMac I tried the version in the app store and the latest version from the web site.

LUV LUV LUV LUVVVVVVVV

I am so happy I found this. Absolutley wonderful. I love the interval shooting option. My lame D40 wont let me do that… Thanks so much for this awesome freeware.

D5200

Works Great with my new Nikon D5200. Great program.

Support for the D3200

The Nikon D3200 is at a price point that a lot of start-up photographer can live with, support for the D3200 would be awesome.

This app seems cool

But it doesnt support the Nikon D3200….Update to support D3200, that would be awesome!!!!!

Cant beat the price

I like this program. I am not a professional photographer, but in order to take time lapse and lunar pictures, it helps to have the camera tethered. The app is the only one I can find that works without paying $80+ My hat off to the programmer!

It’s a really great app!

I like this app!. Its simple, easy to use, minimalistic GUI. Please consider adding an option of focus control. Guys, you’ve done a great job. Keep it up!

Does not work for D7100

It looks like a wonderful app but unfortunately although the author states the d7100 is supported, it does not recognize my camera. A quick web search shows many d7100 users in the same situation. I have emailed for support but have not received a response. I’m not holding my breath since the last update was in 2012...

Great free alternative to Nikon Camera Control

All I wanted was an app to control my Nikon D40 over USB that would let me adjust the settings for the various modes as well as capture directly to my computer. This app does that perfectly! Thanks so much! (Also works great under Yosemite for those wondering)

D750 Support?

Was seriously hoping for some D750 support. Looks to be a solid application, maybe it will be updated to allow for wireless transfer?

Fantastic for D90 Astrophotography

Running OS X Yosemite with USB connected Nikon D90 for astrophotography. I have the camera connected to a Meade LX200GPS 12” telescope with a camera adapter and t-mount. With camera in Manual mode you can remotely change all the necessary camera settings on the fly, use Live mode to see how telescope is pointed and focusing image, take snapshots and download on the fly. Perfect.

Force Close Problems

I am using a Macbook Pro Retina display with an Intel Core i7 processor, running OS X Yosemite, and tethering to a Nikon D90 camera. We use it to for product photography and it is very helpful, when it works. It allows you to choose what folder you would like the images to be stored in as you take the pictures and the display is perfect for what we use it for. However, sometimes it will not connect with the camera, but lately the problem is that Sofortbild will close as soon as I snap the first picture and will not allow me to use it at all. Is there other troubleshooting I need to do in order to fix this besides restart it, completely shut down in safe mode, and restarting the application?

Better than Nikon own Camera Control Pro

Great app that lets you remotely control your Nikon DSLR, it is more intuitive and shows the photo immeditely unlike Camera Control Pro. Recommended for tethering your Nikon DSLR and its FREE!

Wish there was documentation, but got it working within 5 minutes of googling

Pretty easy to use – make sure you just change camera setting for USB from Mass Storage to MTP/PTP and it works fine. Really excited about the uses in the future!
